WEEK 4 Badgers Bounce Back, Rushers Get Sacked

Week 4 saw two very close games. In the first game the Hitmen took an early lead and gave the Badgers trouble on offense. However the Badgers managed to keep pace with some excellent offense blocking. Even after two failed onside kicks the Badgers somehow battled their way back to take the lead on a late P.A.T. On the last drive the Hitmen ran out of time and lost the game by only 1 point.

The second game was also a close contest. With both team struggling against the offense the Rushers carried the lead into the second half by 1 point. Then late in the 3rd quarter the Dragons turned the game around with a safety. The Rushers offense had big problems containing the Dragons double rush attack getting sacked 7 times !  Dragons win a close one 15-7

WEEK 3 Bad Start for Badgers, Splendas Hang On

It was a rough start for the Badgers this week. With only five players the Badgers hit the wall and dropped a stinker. Running out of gas, the Badgers fell behind the Hitmen and eventually forfeited the game in the 4th quarter. Hitmen quarterback Steve Walsh had a strong game scoring 5 points.

The later game on the other hand was a fantastic close contest. Both teams battled hard as both defenses tormented the offense. Rampages’ Scott Vere Holloway had a great game with a pick 6 and interception to make it close. On the last drive for the win the Rampage spiked their way up the field but couldn’t get their receives to go out of bounds. Big Splendas hang on for their second win 16-12.

WEEK 2 Teams Battle the Weather, Punt Themselves to Death !

It was a tough start for the league this past Sunday, as teams battled the wind and the rain more than each other. The heavy wind had its way with the ball as all quarterbacks struggled to control a pass. In the first game the Big Splendas got a little revenge on the team that put them out of the play-offs last September. Jon Andrusko caught the only touch pass of the game as the Big Splendas shut out the Rushers 6-0.

The weather wasn’t much better for the second game. Again kickers and quarterbacks had trouble with the ball. Early in the second quarter Mark Pope of the Rampage scored a safety and kept his team in the lead for most of the game. However late in the 3rd quarter Colin Andrews sidestepped his way into the end zone scoring the only points for the winning team. Hitmen barely beat the Rampage 6-2

The game was firmly in command as the Dragons jumped out to an early lead and kept control until the Hitmen capitulated with 6 minutes left in the 4th quater. Not much of a final game but a fantastic season for both teams none the less. Congratulations to the Dragons and a big shout out to all the players this season. Another fantastic year everyone !!

Dragons and Hitmen Both Squeak Out Wins

Sunday night saw 2 very close games that were only decided in the last few minutes of play. In the first game the Rushers and Hitmen went blow for blow with both teams trading shots down the field. The turning point in the game was a crucial Red Zone stop against the Rushers late in the 3rd quarter. Even then the Hitmen had to stop the Rushers attack on the last drive burning the clock and securing their spot in the championship Cup game. Hitmen squeeze out a win beating the Rushers by 4 points.

The second game saw the Dragons offense much in control of the game but their defense had a tough time containg the Badgers attack. Making a strong comeback and winning possession from an onside kick the Badgers made one final drive to tie the game. However like the Rushers in the first game they simply ran out of time. Dragons advance to the Cup game beating the Badgers by 8 points.
